She released her debut single, Here, in 2015, when she was just aged 19. It was an instant hit with both critics as well as admirers praised it. In the Canadian Hot 100, and Billboard Hot 100, ranked it as 19. Even Rolling Stone named it one of the most memorable songs of 2015. In the same year, she also released Know It All. Scars to Your Beautiful is one of five songs she wrote that made it to the Billboard charts. The song was particularly memorable due to her interview with rapper Rap-Up, many of the listeners related to her journey through self-doubt and discovering how to accept herself. Cara is known for incorporating messages about emotional health, kindness, and self-love into her songs. She's been in the midst of insomnia and anxiety, which affected her life. Reuters stated that she calls her album "half turbulent, and half finished". She found growth through therapy and encourages other people to seek out help when needed. Alessia Cara was born to Italian parents on July 11th, 1996. She was given a guitar by her parents when she was 10 years old, which sparked her passion for music. When she was 13, she started covering songs she liked on YouTube in order to show her fans that she had talent and was able to go after a career as an artist. Sweater Weather was her most well-known cover. The record label EP Entertainment EP Entertainment, noticed her and allowed her write songs.
