Her debut song Here came out in 2015. The song was an instant success and was praised by critics and listeners alike. It reached number 19 on both the Billboard Hot 100 and the Canadian Hot 100. Even Rolling Stone ranked the song as one of 2015's Best Songs. At the same time that she released Know It All. Scars to Your Beautiful, one of her five original songs included on the Billboard Charts including Billboard Hot 100 in Canada and Billboard 200 for the Canadian Albums Charts. In her interview with Rap-Up the listeners discussed Cara's self-love journey and her fears. Cara is well-known for her ability to incorporate messages about mental health love and self-love into her music. The inspiration for her music comes from Cara's personal struggle to overcome mental health problems as well as insomnia. Reuters stated that she calls the album "half tumultuous, half perfected". She tells people that she discovered her development during therapy. Alessia Cara has been a Canadian musician since 1996. Her parents come from Italian descent. At the age of 10 old, her parents gifted her a guitar which became the beginning of her musical passion. 2013 was the year she recorded her favorite songs for YouTube, a popular platform for media. It was done to show that she had both the ability and the confidence to pursue a career as an artist. A cover of one of her songs, Sweater Weather, was the first thing that made her stand out. EP Entertainment gave her the chance to write and compose her own music.
