Alessia Cara
At the age of 19, she published her first debut single, Here. It became a huge hit immediately that both critics and the fans were awed by it. It reached number 19 in both Billboard Hot 100 and the Canadian Hot 100. Even Rolling Stone named it one of the best songs of the year. The same year when she dropped Know It All. Scars to Your Beautiful, one of her five original tracks featured on the Billboard Charts, including Billboard Hot 100 in Canada and Billboard 200 for the Canadian Albums Charts. In an interview that Cara gave together with Rap Up, this track had lots in the minds of many people listening who were drawn to her tale of learning to accept and love yourself. Cara is known for including messages on the importance of mental health, kindness and self-love in her music. She has been struggling with insomnia and anxiety, which has influenced her music. In a Reuters interview, she has said that her album was half turbulent but half perfected. People have told her that she experienced growth in therapy. Alessia Cara was born to Italian parents on the 11th of July 1996. Her parents gifted her with their first guitar when she was 10. This was her beginning with music. When she was 13, she started covering songs she liked on YouTube to prove to the public that she was a talented artist and had the courage to go after a career as an artist. In fact, one of the covers Sweater Weather was able to get her noticed by a record label called EP Entertainment which allowed her to write and create songs.
