In the year 2015, at age 19, she released her debut single, Here. The single garnered a lot of attention and was well-liked both by critics and listeners. The single peaked at 19th on both the Canadian Hot 100 as well as the Billboard Hot 100. Even Rolling Stone ranked the song as one of 2015's Top Songs. In the same year, she released her debut album Know It All, the track Scars to Your Beautiful ranked in the Billboard Hot 100 as well as the Canadian Albums Chart Billboard 200. The track was also one of the five original songs. It was a special track since, in light of her interview with Rap-Up that she gave many of her listeners were able to identify with her journey of finding love for themselves, as well as doubting herself. Cara is well-known for her ability to incorporate the themes of mental health and compassion and self-love in her music. The inspiration for her music stems from her personal struggles to overcome mental health problems and insomnia. According to a Reuters interview, she describes her album as half-tumultuous and half perfected. Her growth was aided by therapy. She advises other people, if needed, to reach out for assistance. Alessia Cara has been a Canadian artist since 1996. Her parents come from Italian descent. When she was just 10 years old, her parents bought her a guitar which became the beginning of her passion for music. She began covering the songs she loved at 13, to prove to that world that she was a talented musician and the confidence required to become a singer. Sweater Weather was the most popular cover. An album label, EP Entertainment, noticed her and allowed her write songs.
